Overview

 

The Leader in Me is Franklin Covey’s whole school transformation process. It teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.

 

Everyone is a leader in his or her own way! We believe that every child possesses leadership skills, but needs time to learn about how to be an effective leader and must be taught how to collaborate with other students and adults. Children learn to self-manage and lead themselves first.

 

 

Our Mission

 

We believe that leadership is best taught through example—and all members of administration and instructional staff are required to participate in a series of ongoing 7 Habits seminars. They are also encouraged to read Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and The Leader in Me. Students and staff alike engage in the process of evaluating themselves, creating mission statements, and then setting SMART goals.
